Lead Service Lines
Why is Blue Rock asking me about my home’s service lines? According to the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) there were an estimated 9.2 million lead service lines (LSL) in water communities across the United States. Blue Rock’s distribution lines are all plastic or ductile iron; however, homes built before Washington State adopted the 1986 Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) may still have lead lines, components, or solder.
The Biden-Harris Administration’s goal of replacing 100% of LSLs requires the Department of Health-Office of Drinking Water (DOH-ODW) to require Blue Rock Water Company to perform an LSL survey to complete our inventory.
If I have been asked to complete the survey, does this mean my home has LSL? No. Blue Rock initially reviewed public records to determine the year homes were built. Blue Rock asks you to complete the survey because county records indicate your home was built before 1985.

How do I locate my service line? The Washington State Department of Health – Office of Drinking Water (DOH-ODW) has provided a pamphlet to assist consumers with finding and identifying the type of service line they have in their homes. Press here for more information.
